Yes.  As of January 1, 2006 licensing is required.

    Home Inspection Professional Licensing

  • Are you licensed by New York State?
    Yes.
    My state ID# is 16000001528.
This can be verified by going to the Department of State's website.

  • Am I required to get a home inspection in order to purchase a home?
=>  No.  It is up to you.

  • Why should I get a home inspection?
=>  Finding out everything you can about a potential home is the smartest thing you can do.
=>  Title searches are done, liens are researched, taxes are determined, etc.
=>  A HOME INSPECTION ranks right up there with the importance of the items mentioned above .

  • How long does an inspection take?

It will typically take me 3 hours to complete a home inspection on a Colonial or Victorian style house.

Some inspectors will take 45 minutes to 1-1/2 hours to perform an inspection that SHOULD take 2 to 3 times longer.

More is absolutely better, in this case.
